Darrin’s Coffee Company was at a meeting for the Zionsville Merchants Association, and Erin Leonard was there soliciting donations for the Zionsville Showchoirs. They had a competition in Ohio, and the kids needed funds. I was a child of a single mother who always sought to teach a lesson, at every opportunity.
In the spirit of entrepreneurship, I suggested that the kids market Darrin’s coffee as a fundraiser. This was a starter, and I believe they learned a lesson. On my way to the New Business Bootcamp on Saturday, I passed a few buses and a truck with a trailer that was wrapped as Zionsville Showchoirs. I was stoked, and tooted my horn. They probably thought I was some nut! Anyway, I wished them well.
Well guess what, not only did they learn about entrepreneurship, they won the competition! Here is a picture with Erin’s daughter Clare holding the trophy. Fantastic! You can REALLY do more by doing good. Great job kids.
